The 2005 SprintO was held at Bromehill (Thetford Forest) on Saturday 19th November. The morning of the event was foggy and cold, but the turnout was good, and we soon managed to get the races underway. Rapid runs on the first leg ensured that we didn’t have to hang around too long before rounding everyone up and moving on to the start of the second rounds and finals. At this point the sun broke through the clouds, and the temperature rose, making everyone feel more cheerful! Good runs from the ShUOC contingent in the men’s semi ensured a Sheffield only final, which was won for the second year by Neil Northrop. The women’s semi was more open, with both Nicola and Rosemary having excellent runs to earn a place in the final, which was narrowly won by Hazel Tant, again for ShUOC.
