The 2004 SprintO was held on Rowney Warren in Bedfordshire on Saturday 20th November. Having snowed the previous Thursday and being quite a crisp day, there was still snow on the ground. Although smaller than previous years, the field was very competitive, especially in the women's race where Oxford fresher Cerys Manning beat all of ShUOC, including last year's winner Rachael Elder, to win the trophy. In the meantime, the men's trophy was retained by last year's winner, Matt Crane, winning from an all-ShUOC final. The elite AlcO followed, with a number very confused runners following Neil Northrop (who should have local knowledge of the area!), passing through the start several times before finding the right direction. Although Ed Catmur provided some good competition for him, Neil Northrop took the race at the final 'punch' control. (With special mention to Matt Crane and Ashleigh Field who ran a drink/run tag team due to driving responsibilities, and to Ali and Eli Ingleby for being the first women to finish!). Full results are available.
Men - Matt Crane (ShUOC)
Women - Cerys Manning (OUOC)
