Cambridge University Orienteering Club
Socials

Social events are organised on a regular basis

For details of upcoming socials see the events list or contact the social secretary

Pub-O

Once a week, there is generally a Pub-O where members of the club pick a particular pub and meet up to discuss matters of great importance, solve world problems, and generally consume whatever sort of drink they fancy. The venue is generally announced a few days before.

PuntO: Floating between control points

Punt-O & Barbecue

At the end of the year, in May week, the club has a Punt-O event, followed by a BBQ. The exact rules depend on the organiser, but the event involves a combination of running (around Coe Fen) and punting along the river. Depending on the organiser, extra points may be given for silly things like bridge-jumping!

The Dinnercrawl

At the end of Michaelmas term, before the training tour, we organise a dinner event as a club, where about 5 members of the club host a course in their residence, as part of a roving meal. This is a great chance to get together after 5th-week blues to chill and eat Christmas-like food at each stop. One time we even had vodka-soaked chillis as one of our courses at someones dodgy flat...

Annual Dinner

The Annual Dinner

Of course, a seminal social event does exist. The annual dinner is a chance for high-jinks and to eat some decent cuisine and often takes place in a private function room, away from the student crowds of college hall. It really is the highlight of the orienteering year, where we might club together somewhere afterwards...ssh,cindies
